  • Christmas lights..

    This is driving me nuts...
My wife and I moved into our first home last year and the day after Christmas she went and bought all the lights to hang up this year. I hung up the 6 sets of icicle ones and daisy chained them all together.
Turned them on and they worked and looked so nice. So night time came and about an hour or so went by, I went outside to look at my awesome work and noticed they were off. I checked the small little fuse in the male end and one of two was blown. Replaced it and they came right back on and lasted a little longer until i turned them off for the night.

Today they blew the fuse again after about an hour and i replaced it and again they blew. Reading the instructions, it says to only plug in 3, so how does that work when I want to run it from one end of the house to the other and i need all 6 to be turned on? Is there something i can buy to put in the middle of every 3rd strand to provide the power it needs?

Cut screws the length of the fuse and replace.....

I had to run three separate power cords when I had traditional lights. Now I have LED and have 15 strands and a set of LED icicle lights all through a single timer. They are rated for something ridiculous like 83 strands end to end.

Two extension cords is your answer.

You sound like my wife; same situation yesterday. 9ft tall tree, she had 13 sets of light plugged in together and kept blowing fuses. Of course she did not read the box where it says only 3 strands together. She had to take it all apart and redo the entire tree to a more sensible 6 strands so it would work and/or she didn't burn the house down. See, that is what happens when you give them some free time outside of the kitchen.
I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.

Sex with an Asian woman is great, but 30 minutes later you're horny again.

Yeah they are the traditional lights, I figured six wouldn't be so bad.

I guess that's what I will have to do. After Christmas I'll do LED lights for next year. Such an eyesore to have an extension cord run right down the middle of the house.
