I may work while sick, but I'm at least smart enough to not handle any food.

Guess ill be honest and say that if I feel like shit, I may not go in. Dont need to forget something and get someone killed.

Blame management and a poor corporate culture for brow-beating everyone to death for not showing up or calling in sick, and blame the assholes who "call in sick" who are taking advantage.

I would -hate- it if my Vacation/PTO days were mixed in with my sick days. Having them separate encourages you to actually use the sick days responsibly when you need to without having to worry about it killing your vacations.

When I started full time 6 months ago I had no Pto. I only accrue ten hours per month and I haven't been able to get ahead yet.
