  • Sick people, STAY YOUR A$$ HOME!

What the fuck, if you're sneezing, hacking up green loogies, coughing up pieces of lung, stay you're bitch ass, sick ass, at HOME!
If you think you may be fired, tough shit, stay your ass home! If the rent is due, again, tough shit for you, stay your ass at home.
If there is a party to go to, you are not that fucking important and non-sick people will forgive you, stay your sick ass home!

Is it really that hard to comprehend, stay the fuck home.

I work when I feel good, and I work when I'm sick. Period. Business doesn't stop just because I'm sick. And if I'm not available for discussion, the business goes elsewhere. If I have to go to the office, I do stay in my own office as much as possible, and try to touch as little as possible.

Get out of here with that real world common sense bullshit.

100% I go to work when sick. I don't get sick often, but to miss work I pretty much have to be dying.

I work from home occasionally when I'm sick, and used to do it a lot more than I do now. I've finally come to realize that training other people that work for me to handle my BS is the best way to work. Now I don't have to be there all the time, nor do I have to worry myself to death if something is getting done.

now I take days off without even looking at my email.

People that go to work that sick, it is because they have no vac or real sicks days left. A lot of people use up there sick days for days they want to use cause they didn't feel like coming to work when they were really not sick.

I see it every year here where I work.

You are probably right. It's not the case for me I'm sitting right at 119hrs of available PTO.

I have to use some of my vacation time or I lose it. I can only cash in so much. I plan out vacation time based on two factors: 1. is it going to be busy, and 2. can I afford to take off. I get paid straight commission, so PTO or not, I lose money by not being at my desk. Hell I dont take a lunch break for the most part, I eat at my desk.

I'd love it to be different, or be able to work from home. Hell, I'd love to move back into management, but I wont be able to do it here without a pay cut, and I havent found anything worthwhile to leave for.

If I am sick but able to work, I work from home.

If I am sick and need to sleep or be at the doctor's office or whatever, I use PTO.

That probably holds true for a lot of people. I get 5 weeks of vacay though, and I use 8 days at the absolute most. Mine is more about my competitive nature. I hate letting business go elsewhere over something I could have prevented by simply being at work, or answering my phone. I do have the luxury of working from home most of the time. But occasionally, there is a meeting I can't miss, or I need to be at my office to do something I can't do from home. Luckily I don't get sick often, so it's not a huge issue either way.

Exactly. If I'm not working we are missing opportunities. I can do most of it from my phone these days, but I still show up and check on things at the office regardless of how I'm feeling.

I usually just work from home when I'm sick. If it's real bad, I have no problems calling in...
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

I prefer to use sick days to go do fun things and then post all about it on FB and share it with all my co workers that are miserable at work while Im out having fun.

My 2nd biggest downside to telecommuting. You have to be REALLY frackin' sick to skip work.

The biggest downside, no snow days.
