Slot car peeps?

I'm looking to get my five year old daughter a slot car set up for Christmas. I'm pretty sure she will dig the shit out of it since she loves hot wheels or anything car/truck related.

Anyone have experience with AFX setups? They seem to closely resemble the tyco HO sets from back in my day. Cliffhangers was the shit!

Any other brands to look for?

There is a Hobby store in Arlington that is THE place to buy slot cars. Hobbytown, I believe.

I got my kids this dag racing one. It has the tree to start and bulb at end of track to tell who won. There are several editions of this set. we have the john force one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/371187485776?lpid=82 i bought a few extra pieces of track and made the track really long and if you want to do it you can build a return road so the cars come back down to the start.
