I've got a late model extended cab pickup that I have been planning on giving to my little brother so he has something decent to drive (he has a couple of junky ass turds he's been driving for a few years now).

I've been waiting to find another truck before I gave him the ext cab because everyone needs a truck at some point. This is perfect timing because I can give it to him as a big "Happy Birthday/Merry Christmas" present since his birthday is Dec. 17th.

Congrats man. That's really awesome. I thought about trying to track down my first car (66 Mustang Coupe), but decided I'd really rather have a 65/66 Fastback so I bought one of those instead.

It is so rare to find one that you sold years ago still in descent shape and with an owner willing to sell. Your daughter and you will make lots of new memories working on that truck that will be with you forever.

Slowly, but it is about to move pretty quickly. Just need a torque convertor so I can bolt motor/trans together and figure out driveshaft, then some electrical work and it will be ready to run

I doubt driving to Sherman is going to be very exciting for you to come help work on it.

You can't go wrong with an early fastback Mustang.

Yeah, I showed her pictures of what the truck will look like and she said she liked dark blue, so dark blue it will be. Coincidentally, the truck was sort of a light blue from the factory, so that's pretty cool.

He is, I just need to get the transmission and converter pulled out of the wagon so he can get it picked up and put in.

                      Bad ass.

Next time give me a shout if there's something on the south side you need looked at before you drive 2 hours bro. There's a lot of junk sitting around the rats nests.

Man, the guy completely misrepresented the truck. The ad said, "Body is very solid with very little surface rust. Only damage on the body is the right front of the hood (gives it a little character). Truck was restored appox in the early 90's which there is some body filler on the pass side door and bed (once again looks great with the patina)."

There was body filler AT LEAST 1/4" thick in several places, the bottoms of the doors had obviously been hack job patched, and the back of the cab looked like the bed had been pushed into it at some point. He DID mention that the hood was smashed up though.

That's for sure. After seeing the body and how he described it, I'd almost be afraid to see his "custom made" engine/transmission mounts. 😕

Lol, yeah yeah. I just need to move some junk out from away from the wagon so I can actually get it jacked up and pull the trans and converter.
