I would get the Eastwood. A friend of mine just got one and likes it. Go ahead and get a gas cylinder and don't waste your time with flux core unless you're working on farm equipment outside in the open.

          Hobart or lincoln.

Hobart is just a cheaper miller. Easy to find consumables for like tips and such.

I have the cheap 90 amp mig from harbor freight. It works great for repairing things around the house. I wouldn't build a trailer or anything with it though. They're a great buy for the price though. I'll be buying the largest mig they sell probably this Christmas.

Spend the extra dinero and get a lincoln or miller. Buy once, cry one. Chinese stuff is junk and can often be very hard to find parts for and that kind of stuff always seems to break at the worst possible time.

I bought a northern tool brand and it works really good. Id say it is very comparable if not a little better to the lincoln 140 we use at the shop. Think i paid just over 200 for the 140 amp unit last black friday.

A welder is one of those items that it definitely pays in the long run to buy the best/nicest machine you can and just bite the bullet on it.

                      TrueBlue and don't look back...

FYI, they have some great rebates right now on Miller. Check out Zoro.com. They are having a 25% off sale.

Check Craigslist. Always deals on there. A 210 volt welder isn't all that great for sheet metal. I bought a Millermatic 140 to do patch panels. It's great for that. You will want a 210 unit for subframe connectors.
