I love the crap out of my one-offs.
No will do. He will want nothing less than a fox body 5.0 mustang. He's got some sentiment with it.

Keep an open mind on the numbers they give you.expect to have to negotiate the number offered, pull craigslist adds, eBay sold auctions, etc to get comparable prices for true replacement values. Let them know that you'll be replacing it with a like model, so blue book, since that can very, and condition brings the difference in a cheap basket case and a solid car. The miles on that car was way lower than usual, and what you paid (I don't even know that number) has zero to do with what it will cost to replace it.

Sometimes, like Dennis stated, retaining salvage just doesn't make dollars or sense.
We can't find a value on it. Craig looked and he couldn't find values for anything older than a '92. Any ideas on where we could look (other than currently available ones)?

Right now, we're leaning on buying it back and parting it out. Depending on how much they give us, we'll either look for another one or buy a roller and transfer the motor/trans, etc...It will all depend on what they come back with.

Thanks, D.J. We're pretty upset. It's not like we can just go drop another $3500 for a car. We're hood rich around tax time, but that's about it. lol

You ain't shittin. I sold an engine out of a car and happened to know some about the unit, we made 200 plus on just the engine, and still had core values, trans, etc to sell.

It will brand the title as salvage, but if the car still drives, and you wanted to, you could put a door and fender on and drive it while looking for what you want to replace it with.I have a door if you need one.
