Medical is just a step under full legalization, so I'd vote for it all the way if given the choice, but decriminalization is a no-brainer.
I'm not so sure on the DUI aspect. At the very least I think it needs some more study.

I think this is all in how you market it. Tell them how much tax money they are spending for each prisoner. I think it was something like $50K per year. Make it an impact issue on their wallet and they'll rethink it. That's exactly what I've done with all my elder friends and it has been a very effective argument.

I wonder how quickly after weed becomes legal nationwide that it'll be ruined by tobacco companies by adding a ton of chemicals to it?

Grow your own = problem solved

Can't say the same for tobacco because it would be missing the best ingredient: nicotine.

The true pot heads would do this, but the more recreational users and lazy asses would just buy it at 7-11 like a 6pack of Coors or a pack of Marlboro out of convenience.

On a side note, this thread makes me want to start a weed habit.

Bingo. I think you should be free to do it. That said, adults still have priorities. If you risk your job/career over pot, that is nobody's fault but your own.

I'm just going to throw this in this thread I suppose. This little girl in Frisco is having terrible seizures than cannabis oil can stop. Her Representative has shot down any hope of support for medical use, with no clear reason why, other than "It's morally WRONG." How are people this dense in change of anything, let alone fit to govern in any capacity?

I can't answer your question, but I can say I'd be buying it from some street dealer if my little girl was sick - and it made her feel better.

Bet they are too. GD criminals!

I smoked while I was a car salesman. I smoked when I ran a condo complex. I smoked when I fired a LASER at satellites for NASA. I smoked when I did stereo installs for years.

I like weed. It always motivated me to do more stuff work wise and I have never been fired or reprimanded from a job. I actually have many awards and bonuses for doing exceptional work.

I also spent 15+ years smoking while driving and never had an accident or ticket during that entire time.

I stopped smoking for the fear of jail. No other reason. If it becomes legalized I will smoke again. If it becomes medical only than I will get a prescription. If it becomes decriminalized I will deal with the fine. Until then, I have too much to lose.

Its one of those things that should have never became illegal in the first place and the only reason it became illegal was due to the logging industry back in the day when they had some clout.

You can call me a pot head but I can write a Ladder Logic code while stoned that can control one of the worlds fastest moving gymbol with a big ass LASER on it, I can automate a waste water plant that has had ZERO failures in my system since installed a decade ago and my rock crushers are still going strong at the cement plant.

These are things you just cant do while drunk.

I am all for legalization. Let the gobment tax it as long as I can walk into a store and pick my flavor of choice.

And the medical benefits are real. I have severe back issues. When I smoked I never needed pain meds. Now I do. When I take them I can not function well. With weed I could do any work put in front of me and not feel my back trying to kill me.
Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
