This is an option, it's not required. You can contest any criminal offense, but your fellow citizens choose to waive their right to due process and pay it forward, frequently. Feel free to contest, others wish not to and just want to pay up and move on. Who are you to say they can't?

Like I said show me stats where its being abused and I'll jump on thr bandwagon. I personally think its good because it allows people to take care of their business instantly if they choose plus frees up resources and officers from court assignments.

Perhaps you can show me stats where officers advise driver's of their rights on the side of the road before asking them to search the vehicle, before asking questions that may be incriminating, using scanners built into the flashlights for a breathalyzer without warning, scanning iPhones for data during a stop without permission.

Yes, due process and freedom is important. I pity those who are willing to trade it for convenience. So, if you are paying on the side of the road, do you still have to pay court costs or are you given a discount for making it easier on the cop who doesn't have to show up for court and the court for not having to deal with you or do you pay for a service you're not given?
