  • What's the going rate to paint a tool chest?

I have a Snap On tool chest that's about 5 ft tall (both top and bottom)... do paint and body shops normally take on this type of project? I'm curious though how they go about removing the silver trim pieces without messing them up.

Not sure what they charge, but you might come out ahead flipping it and getting a new/nicer one off craigs list. There are always deals on higher end boxes on there.
Here's a few deals from quick search, as always cash is king:

I redid a top box almost 2 decades ago. I had Metal Rehab (I think) in Ft Worth dip it to remove old paint and then had it powder coated. Inexpensive but I did have to take it all apart which was no big deal.

You're probably talking about a much bigger box, but have Aaron stripe it when you're done.

I got mine powder coated, it was far cheaper than I expected.
