  • Verizon was nice to me... almost too nice..

So I get a text from Verizon stating to call and they will drop my bill $20 a month because I have been with them forever. Cool, so I do and its legit. I mention my Droid Ultra could use an upgrade as I drop the hell out of it and at one point I bet it breaks. Lady said just go down to the store for my bonus. So I go and even though I am not at my update time yet they gave me a new Droid Turbo for free. No contract extension or charges other than the $30 upgrade fee. Sounds good to me. Dude then says since I am getting a new phone that I can have a free tablet and it wont change my service plan charges at all and handed me a new LG. Its not uber fancy but its a free freakin tablet!
Holy crap, I don't have that kind of luck. Dude is going through my file and sees I have been with Verizon for over a decade and haven't had a late payment in almost 10 years so he even threw in a wireless charger.

So with that run of good luck I expect my truck to explode tomorrow. LOL

Just wait till you renew your contract.

Now I bet they throw out anything you might have been granfathered into, like no data limit or other unlimited services.

Nope, was very specific on that. All the same stuff just with the tablet added on and the rate is $20 less per month than it was the last couple years. Contract was not even extended or renewed. Was a strange experience.

If you didn't get it in writing, it didn't happen.

I moved my wife from Sprint to Verizon while upgrading her to a new iPhone. I was going to simply add her to my account, which is just for my iPad but they kept rejecting it. I ended up creating a new account for her.. Kind of a PITA but still, anything is VASTLY better than Sprints BS.

I've had Sprint for almost ten years and I'm about to throw in the towel. Service is horrendous.

I just saved over $100 on our next cruise by using Verizon smart rewards points.

Oh yeah, also said I had almost a quarter million points. Looks like I can save from all kinds of places.
