Yep. All spec ops gets extra is some different forms of hazard or combat pay which I believe only adds up to a few hundred bucks per month usually. I don't know the exact amount but it isn't much. I know they did volunteer for the job, but i really believe special operations should be on a separate and much higher pay scale than the rest of the military.

There are alot of career fields that get large reenlistment bonuses; air traffic control was one of them when I was in. I think they were getting $40k or something like that. I am talking about a separate pay scale completely. For example, E5 regular makes $40,000 but E5 spec ops would make $80,000, plus reup bonuses and hazard pay they already get. Or something similar to that. There are alot of jobs in the military that are hazardous, very stressful, or require alot of technical training and special skill and are important, I am not trying to mqke them sound unimportant. But there is a huge difference between what the average soldier or aiman does day to day and throughout their career vs what spec ops goes through and I think they should be compensated as such.

Right now in the AF, only spec ops and linguists are getting bonuses (not much either).

I believe most military referred to him as UBL. I can't remember where/when the OBL came in.
