How is the "pay plan" being changed ?



This company is one of the big ones that eats little ones, by the sounds of it.

I worked at several dealerships, and still have a ton of friends still do. It used to be that dealers wanted good employees that knew what they were doing, would show up on time, etc, and were willing to pay for them. There was competition, and if, for example, a good parts guy left, they might call around to other dealers and try to steal a parts guy by offering more money.

Today, with the majority of dealerships being owned by a large group, there is less competition, and more drive for lower costs in order to make higher profit margins. That guy that does his job extremely well isnt going to be able to shop himself around and get more money (well, much more) since the same ownership group owns 17 other stores in town. He may not be able to get a raise at all without leaving the place he's been for years.

Ive seen guys that couldnt get a raise leave to another store, different group, and then come back for more money a year later.

They wont get payed any extra but 8-9 positive 100% takes care of 1 bad one in percentages usually.

Also if op is going to autonation dealership run run away.
