Sometimes people say their wallet was stolen out of their car. Why? Why is your wallet left in your vehicle?

I've decided to not file a claim. I don't have receipts for most of the stuff that was taken and I know they're going to want proof. Lesson learned though. Never again will I leave anything in my vehicle.

Have you thought about setting up a trap? Most thieves are stupid enough to come back for more.

It didn't happen at my house. Happened in a crowded parking lot.

I now it fucking sucks Mike, but never, ever leave expensive shit in your car. Thieves don't give a fuck if its a newer AMG Merc or a 2001 f-150, they just want the contents.
Sucks about the squeezebox, I know they cost a lot of money...

I thought about it, but it would probably result in some more damage that I'd have to pay for. Then I thought about leaving an old bag with my doors unlocked but with my luck, they'll smash the window anyway.

OP, sorry it happened to you... I mentioned in my break-in thread advising everyone to not leave anything valuable where it's visible. Even if you think "it's just an empty backpack", the thief doesn't know that. Hopefully no one else winds up in this mysterious parking lot.

And just so that it's known, my break in was in the Texas Land & Cattle parking lot off of 35 and NW Hwy during lunch. The police that showed up said that the Humperdinks next door is another prime spot for thievery.

Yeah, fuck Dallas. The entire area is a fucking joke and a hot bed for thieves. My buddies cheby truck was stolen right under a parking lot light with the wind chill in the teens. We were at NW Hwy and I-35. We all came out to leave and he comes to my car shivering and said someone stole his truck, I thought he was bullshitting me, til he squeezed in and I had to give him a ride home.

I live down south in Corpus Christi. They had a festival downtown & that is where it happened.

I don't trust anyone, even in Keller of all places. I lock the doors inside the garage.

I used to live in Grand Prairie, so maybe all the robberies around me jaded me. Haven't even seen a shady character since I moved.

Even then, I thought it was common sense to remove anything of value when leaving your car. I scorn my wife when she doesn't want to lug her MK purse around because "its too heavy"...who's fault is that?!

                          Your fault.

You bought or let her buy the purse.
