The back seat in a Mustang is functionally useless, as it has been for 50 fucking years. It's okay to toss a kid back there or a backpack, but putting a six-foot person back there is just not going to happen. Can I interest you in a Taurus?

Prices are high, yeah. I keep hearing everyone talk about the elusive $40k C6 Z06, but the only ones in that price range are salvage title or have 70k miles. If you're okay with that, I'd get the Vette.

I thought this was a good review of the Performance Package GT from another forum:
Danny nailed every aspect of this thread. Of course it's hard to get a good test drive, of course the back seat is tiny. I don't understand what you were expecting.

Also, that is a great review. Sounds like a super-solid car. Wish I could buy one.

Reminds me of the time I had pre-approval from the credit union and about $7k cash on me and went to get my 2K1 LS1 from vandergriff in arlington.....they only wanted to show my v6 models and were like look kid(I was 20) we couldn't get you approved on a Z28 and you probably couldn't afford the insurance.

I got so pissed that I went to the General Manager; showed him the pre-approval letter from the credit union and the envelope of cash I had for the down payment and walked out the door. headed across town to Huffines Chevrolet and got them to dealer trade the car and did the deal in 30 minutes.

It's the prejudgments that a lot of rookie or salesman that think they know everything make that cost them a lot more sales than they may already do in a typical month.

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Sales people making assumptions is stupid, but so is carrying $7k cash into a dealership.

The seats seam more robust than the older models and in a similar driving position to the 03 GT I had it has a couple inches less space.....

I'm not defending Vandergriff here, but you also have to consider that if they get a lot of traffic, most of the time a young kid looking at a high performance car can't afford it and is just wasting their time. Time they could be using to sell to someone who can afford it. Your instance is the exception, not the rule.

Yeah when you are a 20yo kid you tend to do stupid things..........like put a 2 stage nitrous kit on your daily driver and expect it to never have issues.

And the backseats were, and forever have been too small for 4 adults to be comfortable. Maybe in the early days the classic coupes/convertibles had more room, but you should see the backseat in my fastback. Only my 8 year old fits, and she'd still rather be in the front seat. (and usually is)

No kidding. There's also the fact that anyone with the name Vandergriff is going to be an asshole.

You ever heard of Sam Walton? He was a no frills guy with an old beat up truck and had more money than anyone else you may ever meet.
