Thanks guys! Exactly I year ago today I started a job fixing cable tv boxes. I was making pennies, but I was grateful to get it as I was flat broke and trying to climb my way out of a hole I dug. I was also on probation, having to piss test 2 times a week, go to 3 probation mandated classes a week, and work.
Then in April I got the job I'm currently at as a field service engineer for a good company.
And now this job I've been trying to land since Oct 16th becomes a reality and I'm pretty happy.
You know, I didn't really do anything spectacular other than bust my ass as a personal amends to myself and others for a lot of damage I did between 2009 and 2013. I lost a lot of shit unnecessarily and was just about to give up all hope early last year.
So although this is a personal victory and all that, I remain humble and grateful.
I'm gonna have to give notice to my current boss, and it's going to blow his mind as he had a plan for me as well, and he's been pretty good to me.

Congratulations!Originally posted by davbrucasI want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.
Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Hell yeah Chris! Good on you for not giving up!! Congratulations!!!"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776
