A friend of mine married an australian dude, and had a kid with him, and she still can't get citizenship. They just moved here when her visa ran out.

That's crazy. I have seen where physicians get long term stays there and are lead to believe they can make it permanent. Not sure if they make it there forever or not. When I looked into it there were certain careers the country was willing to bring people in with.

That's entirely possible since I was responding to a post that somehow made the parents being pieces of shit relevant to how to handle the kids, then went on to try and reduce responsibility by turning Australia into helpless, apparently incompetent, victims.
