I know, I know, cool story bro blah blah blah. In the day and age of 400-500+hp mustangs, camaros, challengers, vettes, etc, this isn't exactly a big deal. But for someone who has never sat ass behind the wheel of something with more than 200hp......

Holy SHIT was that awesome!

Didn't do a whole lot of high speed or anything, just light to light hits to the speed limit. I did get on it pretty hard from a stop sign on a twisty backroad. Managed to break the tires loose a little that time. Shifted into 2nd, and looked down, and saw 76mph. At night. On a twisty backroad I haven't driven down in several years. Didn't want to kill my buddy's car, so that was it. lol Jackass in a minivan tried to race us. That was funny.

What year? Early ones were 385hp but the later ones made I believe up to 415hp....not bad for 1995-96 standards...and that 32valve motor sounds really sweet wound up.

Years ago I filmed a race between a Viper R/T and a ZR1 at Texas Motorplex (back around 93 or so)...Viper owner was taunting and talking a lot of trash before the race. The Vette won to a standing applause.

My uncle bought one new in 94. That thing was amazing back then. He drove the piss out of it everywhere he went. I loved the way it sounded every time he drove away. Had about 6 or 7k miles when he did a high speed corner (claims he saw 180 on the speedo) while drunk and barrel rolled it in oblivion. He was ejected and his only injury was a burn on his leg from the exhaust during the rolling. He kept the car in his garage for years until he sold the house. He just left it in there. I always wondered what happened to it.

Hell even by todays standards they had a good top end. I kick myself as about two years ago one went through the auction at 24 Hour Wrecker that had 24k on it, or so they said. Wasn't well published and went for under 10k. I never went to see it I just heard everyone talking about it, and they wanted me to come bid on it. I figured they told way to many people and it was going to go crazy high. Supposedly it was all verified but who knows. Good chance it came out of a estate or something and just got towed off. Would have been a fun car but I really prefer the GS. I may own one of those one day.
