Lyn used Vista Print for business cards and some magnetic signs she put on her Transit with the company name/logo/contact info. Cheap, and I'd say OK quality. Definitely not high quality material, but good enough to last a while.

Check with your car insurance agent about insurance coverage too, Lyn used our All State agent, and they source it to some other company, but got good rates.

For now, barronj is right. You should post on craigslist EVERY day even if you don't need any additional work.

Once you start seeing the return from posting manually on Craigslist everyday, you can have a company post different ads multiple times a day for you and you won't have to think about it again until you need to redo your ads.

This! I would bring you my truck to work on and there isn't even anything wrong with it.

I can't seem to find myself posting on craigslist. I look and just see the same shit over and over, their prices are super low compared to what we would quote and of course the work is shit. Some people don't mind shitty work but we won't provide them the shitty work they're looking for.

And I'm on the same boat as the OP, can't afford to advertise on here at the moment. So as of now it's FB, word of mouth, and leaving business cards where I go. Soon I plan to get shirts made with contact info on the back and also a stickers for the two vehicles i have.
Funny thing about leavin business cards around, lady from Kroger called me and said "can you stop leaving your business cards on my pumps" told her have no clue who left them since I hand them out. I'll be going back to see if there is a no soliciting sign posted

Google trucking companies in DFW, find the fleets with less than 10 trucks, then offer them service plans to handle their fleet maintenance.

Schlumberger and BH need equipment techs. Why not apply with them?

At this point in my life I feel like I would enjoy working for myself a lot more than working for a company. That way I don't have to count on anyone other than myself.

Fair enough. Figured I would throw it out there. South Texas and Midland are on fire right now. They even need people in PA.

I advertise in the phone books , yellowbook etc. they also offer an online add and a written in "x" number of cities , just depends on where u want to advertise.
Not sure if you need or already have done it, make sure and have your sales tax set up , would hate to get started and then get a call that you owe sale tax on all the work you've done , I have seen this happen to one guy I know, he's the one that told me what I needed when I started , who'd a thought you had to charge sales tax on mowing , this was back in 1993 and I knew very little. Feel free to pm me if you need any info.

I have cards at every truck stop in Weatherford. I think Im going to start buying people lunches and stopping in every other week to see if they needs more cards and generally try to keep my company in their thoughts.
