I had a couple pretty bad episodes a little over 2 years ago. It's no joke. I always thought it was lame until it happened. The worst I had is when I was driving. Any turning my head to check blinds pots or whatever would make it feel like someone was grabbing my head and shaking it back and forth. It was terrible.

Yup 7 years and counting, Had many test done. EKG, blood work, Head CT, ect I was even admitted to the hospital for 3 days. They didn't find anything and called it anxiety. Now, exercise and dieting did help a lot but I still have episodes. What I notice is that it's triggered by Allergies especially during the summer. Also under severe stress, I think it's an inner ear problem or Méniere's disease since I also have tinnitus. Meclizine does work but diet and exercise helped a lot more.sigpic

I started to get up and almost fell down, went to one knee and eased my way to the pisser, threw up and back to bed. Blew it off as a strong drink. Got up about 6am and head is spinning like a top, I can't get anything to stay still, I try and get up and I can't walk. I scooted to the toilet and after five minutes sat on the crapper and puked again. Took everything to shower and get dressed. Everytime I moved my head was like it was spinning, couldn't keep my balance to walk.
Got so bad downstairs at breakfast I called a cab to go to a local urgent care clinic. Doctor there said signs of a mild stroke and sent me to er. Er doc ordered CT scan, ekg, and some other tests then the nurse tells me it's severe vertigo. First I've ever heard of that. I literally cannot walk without holding something or someone and my head is spinning like a top. They admitted me a few hours ago and waiting to have an echo done, a stress test and two other tests, then it's off to see the neurologist on the 8th floor.
Has anyone had vertigo? How long did it last? They told me it could be a day, a week, or a few months. This sucks, you literally cannot move without help and your head is continously spinning.....
You have what sounds like an inner ear blockage/infection. I assume the Doc checked for that? I had one that did not show up on any x-rays etc. Took 3 weeks to clear up with strong steroids and antibiotics. Also sometimes your Eustachian Tubes will get blocked up after flying, causing this. Did you tell your Doc you flew?

I'm gonna get me some mescaline.
And then I'm gonna rhyme that with gasoline.
