How to remove garment security tag?

Short on time and have a ton to do before our trip. How can I get this off?

I figured out what was bouncing around in the dryer.


No I didn't steal it. Yes I could drive back with the receipt where I bought it.

Oh, and I've just used 2 pairs of channel locks to get those off in the past.

Pretty sure when I worked at academy it was just a big magnet at the register that released them.

Personally I would smash the plastic off with a hammer and see what was inside

This. Subwoofer magnet or the like should work, if magnet type.

That looks like a basic pin/clip security device. Cut that hump off of the back to gain access to the pin and retainer. Or, cut the disc off of the other side

I would go at it from the big side. It should have a small letal plate inside with some spring tension, and a hole for the pin. Cut the hump off, bend the plate, push the pin out. That should result in the smallest chance for damage to the shirt.

The othe option is to bust away the plastic disk on the opposite side and cut the pin off. Removing the disk helps keep from cutting the shirt when trying to find the pin
