  • Speaking of The Ticket, I heard a fucking GV Ford commercial on it this AM when I was driving to work!

In case anyone wondered, they will give you top dollar for your trade in, even if you don't buy a car from them!

I didn't hear back from him nor did I really expect to.
I tried resolving my issues on my own by contacting Grapevine Ford personally. My biggest issues with them are; 1 - we were blatantly lied to during the financing portion about warranties, and 2 - the service department is as I stated, the worst I've had the displeasure of dealing with.

I think what we are seeing out of this guy is more damage control than it is a dynamic change in how they do business. Which is exactly why my last three vehicle purchases were through Five Star Ford.

I'm done with Grapevine Ford and don't expect to see any thing that would change my mind otherwise.

Oh yeah, he knows exactly who you are. I know they are an advertiser here but nothing but the truth has been told. The least amount of time I have to spend at a dealership will be the lees amount of stress one might have, maybe.

I've said it before, but since I started buying new cars by having my own financing, it is probably the best experience, well right up to going into financing and having to deal with their "spiel". The last two times I have had to tell them don't bother, I don't need anything extra...

Mr. Gonzalez has been out of the office the last few days attending a funeral for a family member of one our employees. He should be back today or tomorrow, and I'm sure he will get with you upon return. He does want to help solve these issues. Please have some understanding on this matter guys.

Btw, a no questions asked policy means absolute dick if nobody is willing to honor it. I had a vendor that pulled the same shit and it wasn't until I sent a certified letter to their CEO including a copy of their policy that they finally honored it. Although it was a pita, at least they made it right. Sounds like he sent a couple letters, aside from numerous calls and visits, and it still accomplished nothing.
Sorry I have been out of the office at a funeral. I need more information in order to look up that particular deal. (at least a full name or vin number) I have posted my email several times and have had a few members reach out to me. Unfortunately this particular member has not touched base with me. I am in the middle of helping a few others out as we speak. Please if you have any issues contact me direct at agonzalez@vtaig.com

              • Your version of 'help' and the boards' are likely not very congruent. Making one person happy and having them toot your horn on here wont work. Fix the high profile GVF screw up on here first and you may get some of our attention. And he doesnt need to contact you in order to fix it. I'm sure that you are well aware of the situation.

I am not aware of his situation. I need a more information in order to look it up. I have spoken with the general manager about it and I am authorized to cut him the $4000 check he has request upon investigation. I just need his contact info.

                    • GVFTONYG,

Here is where I am confused, has there been that many people dissatisfied with their purchase that you can't find a particular sale on a king ranch that you have approximate dates on? How many used King Ranch F250s are sold there?

I do know this, I bought a new truck there back in 2011. The sales end was fine, the F&I guy tried to pull all kinds of crap and got away with 2 on me. I raised enough hell that I got it fixed after the fact, it was regarding the extended warranty.

Fix your F&I bullshit and a lot of your problems will fix themselves.

What he said, even when Skip was around I was toyed with in F&I which sucked after such a nice initial experience. I weathered the F&I storm and ended up good but it was a hassle. Word of advice to you guys buying cars, when you get to F&I the answer is always NO.

                          • I'll just go ahead and quote the other thread:

I'll save all the details why, but decided I would give up both the Mustang and the dually for something that could serve both purposes and still be nice to look at and comfortable on the road...I landed on a 12' F250 with the new 6.7 diesel. It was a certified pre-owned over at GVF and they made a pretty good deal on it....had just over 36K on it when I drove off the lot.

However, here in-lies the problem....after only 2-weeks, I am simply unhappy with it, and I'm finding that I've been trying to make myself like it. It's a beautiful truck...King Ranch, crew cab, SWB, 4x4, pretty decently loaded, etc. But the thing has some problems...terrible interior noise, mostly squeaks and rattles all over the drivers side, and bad wind noise from the windshield....the mirror tab is broken, which makes me think it must've had a replacement windshield at some point. Something is just off with both back doors too, b/c aside from noise neither shut right. It shakes at hwy speeds, significant starting around 65 and only gets worse the faster you go. the truck does have some over-sized M/T tires on it, though, and to make that worse they are shitty Goodyears....so a likely culprit. However the most concerning is that the trans doesn't shift right at times...seems to hunt for gear, and sometimes shifts very hard...like slamming hard. Another big issue is that the MPG is just awful! I knew what I was buying and didn't expect it to be great, but I had heard many claims of 16-18 out of these trucks....some even claiming over 20. I have yet to see even 15. It used an entire tank going to Canton and back last weekend (2-hours each way)...and hand calc'd 14.4, all hwy (dash said 14.6). I've filled this thing up 4-times in 13-days, and really been trying to be easy on it these last couple tanks...keeping it out of boost, not going over 70mph, etc.

The good news is that BigPurd gave me a name to contact over at GVF, I spoke to him yesterday and he was immediately agreeable that they will work with me to make it right...if that means trying to address the issues with this truck, or simply trading me back out of it into something else.

The more I think about it, I'm leaning towards just wanting another truck...I get pissed-off everytime I drive this one, and I'm worried this is just a sign of more issues to come. I'm actually thinking about just getting into a new F150 instead, though. For what I do, I don't necessarily need a diesel...I never tow more than about 8K, and probably more often around 5K-6K honestly....and not that often anymore either. So I need something that can tow when I need it, but more-so to be comfortable and get decent mileage out on the road.

So with ALL that said (sorry for the long post)....what are you guys experiences with the new Super Duty trucks (was I just expecting too much?), and what about the 150's....I'm thinking just a 5.0 if I do it, but not entirely opposed to an Eco...I've just heard a lot about those being more hype than what they really deliver....although I've never even been in one. I'd be saving some cash going into a 150 as well.

The first time I test drove it was after work and there was a ton of traffic in the area, so I didn't get it on the hwy. The second time (as luck would have it) it was raining out...it was noisy on the hwy, but I attributed it to the rain and all the water on the road. I looked the truck over a lot and didn't see anything unusual, but keep in mind it is a really clean truck...you really wouldn't expect it to have these problems just looking it over.

From looking at several forums and what folks have tracked at www.fuelly.com, that kind of mpg is really unusual for a 4x4. Most are saying 15-16 on average. You sure the delete didn't make that difference for you? I'm, unfamiliar with the delete on these trucks, but doesn't it cause some issues with inspection, warranty, and such too?

I'm fairly certain that the tires are mostly to blame for the rough ride and the shake...it has 325's on it. Who knows on all the noises though...I don't think it's typical for these.

As-of right now GVF isn't exactly "coming through" for me, though. Their first offer was for me to take over $5000 loss to trade it back on a new F150....that's a pretty expensive rental for 13-days and ~800 miles....on a vehicle that was supposed to be a certified pre-owned. Especially when they have this shit plastered all over their website too - http://www.grapevineford.com/love-it-or-leave-it-promise.htm

We're not done talking yet, though. I'll update how it turns out....I drove a F150 Fx4 5.0 home last night so that they can look the SD over. Wow! what a huge difference...it's WAY more quiet on the inside and rides 10-times better. If we can get closer on what I want back for the 250 I'm going to see about taking an EcoBoost home for a day next.

I can't find any evidence of it, but it sure would explain a lot...I thought maybe hit in the drivers side doors, or maybe even some roof damage. We've confirmed for sure that it has had a windshield at some point.

                            For reference...this is the truck.....

Just be forewarned, all the advertisements about their "Love it or Leave it" guarantee on the website is a bunch of horse-shit....it sums up as, if you don't like it, just bring it back and we'll be happy to fuck you again.

Let's just say, I ended up losing thousands in the deal....13-days and ~800 miles on the F250 - that was a very expensive rental, but I'm happy to be away from it! I probably could have pressed it further, involved Ford maybe a lawyer and all that sort of route, but all this shit is coming at a terrible time (my mother is very ill in the hospital), and I really can't be dealing with this added stress right now.

The sales guys were great, they really did everything they could to work with me and make it right, but they have some manager out there named Mike Ivey who is a total POS in my book. I talked to this guy the first time and he immediately promised to make it right, whatever it was going to take, no problems, etc. I was supposed to hear back from him the following morning...never got that call nor any returned messages I left for him over the following few days. I finally just drove up there, but he was too chicken-shit to even show his face while I was there in-person as well.

In the end - I have a new FX4 F150 with all the options I wanted, not my first color choice, but close enough....however I do still feel VERY screwed in the end. 5 vehicles from GVF over about 10-years, and numerous referrals for family and friends....pretty sure my good customer svc experience left with Skip.

I've read that the intercooler issues were fixed with the 13' model year?....do you know what exactly the issues are?

Doesn't a tune kill the warranty on them?

BTW - thanks for the replies from everyone...I drove a 5.0 truck home one night...I did like it, but I drove an EB after that and I liked it more. ironically too, the 5.0 truck I was looking at was ~$2500 more than the one I ended up with, which has an EB and a few more other options. Kind of a no-brainer at that point.

Yup, he is the one who passed along Mike Ivey's name. For the record, this deal was out of his hands....he had no involvement.

I had a little Ford piston keychain that was given to me as a gift from back when I got my Mustang, like this....

The key to the F250 was on it...I didn't realize until after I left with the F150 that they hadn't given it back to me, so I texted the sales guy that night letting him know that I wanted that back...they still owe me the 2nd key to the new truck anyway, so I told him to just save it and I'll get them both later this week.

He calls me today to tell me that he can't find the keychain. Apparently someone already fucking stole that too!

This ordeal was beyond a bad experience.
