Heh yeah I hate car dealers. I had the timing belt done on my Kia at Southwest Kia, well ended up having to call the big boss over servicing due to the problems I had, instead of him calling he had a sales manager lady call me, she talked about the situation and then started using that as an excuse to try and have me trade it in. Pretty freaking amazing, I have had my last 2 dealings with cars (used of course) through Carmax and I love the way they handle shit there, granted you pay blue book but still.

I can understand the pain of having all those phone calls.
I work in a local dealership and I get flyers all the time from my own shop! "Trade in your 2003 Mustang, get XXXX$ off your next purchase". Nope. Its paid for.
A lot of stores these days are very aggressive on advertising. (I get flyers from Caddy, Chevy, Kia, Dodge, Ford, Nissan, etc) I have always thought it was more annoying than a good way to advertise. Perhaps thats why my name is not on the front of the building. Some cars and a bike...
Some say... they have been raced, some a lot

Texas Toyota (Grapevine) - I took a vehicle home for a night because I got there late. They told me they would have all the numbers done by the time I came back the next morning. They had my Explorer keys because they were going to do a trade in value. It took about an hour to get my keys back after they doubled the monthly payment and made it 4 years longer than my outside financing bank already offered me. In the end it came down to $500 and I still walked out because of their tactics. Marcus and I both asked for my keys SEVERAL times in that hour. They kept blowing me off or giving me some excuse. It came to the point of me almost causing a scene to get my keys back.
I have a good contact at Don Davis that will treat you right. He can sell new or used at any Don Davis location if you call him first ( his office is at Don Davis Nissan). PM me for his number if you are interested.

I got calls like that from one dealer. I invested in an air horn from Academy. After the 2nd time I used it on the guy I didn't get anymore calls.
Another dealer did the same thing after I was in for a warranty repair. I got the guys name and number every time. It was always the same guy and I always told him I wasn't interested and to NOT call back.
After 2 weeks of him calling every other day I finally stopped by the dealership on the way home and let him know IN PERSON that he'd better quit calling me. I then informed the sales manager of the same thing. Well, I think I informed everyone because I'm sure they could all hear me yelling."You wouldn't know what crazy was if Charles Manson was eating Fruit Loops on your front porch"

I had the same thing happen at the chevy dealer here after having the oil changed in my car. After the second call trying to get me to trade it in, I went down there and politely told the service manager that if I ever received another call from a salesman that got my number off of the service records to never expect any of my vehicles in there again for service. Haven't had a call since.

I've even asked specifically to be added to their "don't call list."

Document all the calls, record them where you tell them to stop calling you. Then sue them. There are people out there who make a career out of suing telemarketing assholes and debt collectors and get good money out of them. There was an article in the Dallas Observer a while back about a guy who lost his job and now makes a living off of suing the debt collectors who call him.Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

Don Davis was probably the most pleasant car buying/shopping experience we ever had. Did not try to sell us what we did not want, no bullshit, and did not waste our time. He did not even take our contact information until we were close to the deal we wanted.Last edited by mustangguy289; 02-04-2011, 07:30 AM.

I got hounded by several dealerships the same way shortly after shopping around for my truck. Grapevine Ford was the most aggressive (sorry guys). I let them know that I was already taken care of, but they still called a few more times. I know what that job is like, though, and I didn't get pissed off, and wasn't rude to them. It stopped before too long. And at least they had reason to believe I was shopping for a vehicle, and not just a service customer. Six months of calls after a service visit is a different story!
Sirius is the worst! I had to tell them at least 10 times that I wasn't ready to reactivate my shit. I reasoned, begged, and yelled. The next caller would be clueless. Do they not take or read notes? Bastards.
