Pulled over for 38mph in a 35, I wouldn't tell him where I was going, then he said it was suspicious that while everyone else was at work I was out driving around (a Thursday at 1PM). So they made me sit around until they got drug dogs to sniff the outside of the vehicle. Then after the dog did not alert them we had a pow wow about still letting them search my car.
Speaking of which how is that exactly legal? The silent trigger that the dogs are supposedly trained to do.

What I've seen in some videos is the cop will tap the side of your car, then the dog jumps right there. Then they try and tell you the dog alerted on the car. Fucking retarded. As if there isn't enough crime out there, you've got these dipshits that are going out and inventing it on the spot to stroke their egos. You can see a good example of this anytime someone from the DEA starts talking about how they are against legalizing drugs, or even just reforming the laws to bring them a little more into this century.
Sean, we're gonna need that story, stat.

Only 2 dogs I've been around working (local pd and dps) would sit down when they alerted. What was bad is the vehicle they both alerted at the same spot was clean. It was stripped down but put back together."It's another burrito, it's a cold Lone Star in my hand!"

One example from a quick google:
The Las Vegas Review-Journal is Nevada's most trusted source for local news, Las Vegas sports, business news, gaming news, entertainment news and more.
Personally, I don't think a dog alert should be sufficient as probable cause for a search. I can see it as a reason for further screening in situations like Border Patrol checkpoints, or airport security, but not enough to warrant an otherwise illegal search.
