  • Question for our MCM guru, or anyone else

Any idea what something like this is worth. Just kinda wound up with it a few years ago. We are trying to de-clutter the house a little this weekend and was trying to figure out how much, if anything it's worth.

Only thing I can find is that it is a General Electric Stereo Star phono/am/fm stereo. Powers on, radio and speakers work but haven't tested the phonograph since I have no idea how to work it. It's not in the best condition but could easily be refinished, so if it has some value in better condition I will refinish and sell it that way.

Looks like the furniture piece might be Kent Coffey, or another rip off of the Broyhill Emphasis line. The front has some nice lines, but nothing overly remarkable. Legs make me think they were trying to make this piece less of the iconic MCM look. That's in super rough shape, I'd personally be happy to get more than 100 for it. The fact that it works definitely helps the value though. I'd contact the guys at both The Vintage Freak and Retro Revivaland see if they'd make you an offer on it, but I wouldn't get excited about making any significant money on it.

Not trying to make a killing, mostly just want it gone but also want a fair value for it.

Ok, found a tag that says William Tell Woodcrafters.

Not familiar with them. Put it on CL for a couple hundred, might get lucky. Just depends on who is out there right this moment looking for something like that and is okay with refinishing it. Someone also might just use it as a credenza.

The guy at The Vintage Freak said he might be interested.

I'll give you $25 for it, and that's with me taking a risk to sell it to the right buyer.
