  • Anyone got a rebuilt edelbrock carb?

Want to get either a 1403 or 1406. I currently have an old 1405 that I would trade plus some cash. go the electric choke route...

Unless you spend some time with it your engine will likely run stupid rich.

Edelbrock carbs are notorious for running rich. They usually need springs and other mods to lean out in order to run a proper air fuel ratio.

Ah ok gotcha. I hate carbs anyways... edelbrocks are better for me for just cruising. I'm currently trying to get this turd to stop dropping from 950rpm to 500rpm when i shift to drive or reverse. Huge drop in rpm... driving me nuts.

A quality rebuilt quadrajet would do exactly what you want.

You don't need no electric choke!! Those carbs are stupid easy to rebuild and tune. Also, they don't like more than 6psi so check that out too.
