  • Looking for Credit Card recommendations..

    Hi fellas,

After this latest Home Depot CC hack, I've decided to get a new CC that will be used just for all my bills. I'll just pay it off every month. This won't be used for any other purchases so I'm not too concerned about the interest rate. I want to get the best rewards return on this.

    Any suggestions?

Also, can I use this to pay the mortgage? I figure I could really rack up rewards points by paying with that..

I think our 2 best cash back cards are Discover and Citi

The citi double cash is 2%. 1% at purchase, another 1% at payment. No annual fee.
(This one is my new everyday card)

The sallie mae card from Barclays is a 5% cash back card up to $250/m on gas and $250 on groceries and $750/m on books (amazon.com gets 5% back also)
You don't need student loans to get it. I never had any loans.

      Those are my go-to's nowadays.

And no on the mortgage. No mortgage company will let you use it without a convenience fee that negates any benefit.

I need to look into that barclay's Sally Mae. I haven't been looking to ad a new card, but spending as much as I do in fuel every month, 5% will beat my rewards points on my other Barclay's card. They only amount to 2%

With as much as you drive, the best gas card for you is the PenFed Credit Union Platinum Rewards Card.

It's 5% cash back in gas, with no limit. The only downside is the rewards don't accrue, they deduct off your statememt every month.

          Hey 5% is 5%, amirite?

I put around 15 thousand a year on a cabelas card. Usually get 300 or more in cabelas bucks. They sell nice jackets and other things you would never think of. Usually a little more than most places, but i dont care since im using rewards cash.

Any idea how that would work if I pay balance in full every 2 weeks?

Same way it would work paying any other way, the 5% would deduct once per month.

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.

I have a Cap One Venture.20k air mile bonus if you spend certain amt within first few months. If you like getting rewards on airfare it's decent. I pay it off every month so I don't worry about the rate.
