  • I need a new key for a 99 f250 Super duty. Any option other than a dealer of locksmit

My brother in law has left his 99 f250 Super Duty at my house for 2 years. The water pump came apart and destroyed the fan, shroud, pulley, and radiator. Since I no longer have a take home service truck I need a vehicle. Iv replaced everything, drained the fuel, replaced a tire, and changed the oil. Then I go to start it and no freaking key. I call him and he can't find it. So now on top of spending several 100 dollars I'm gonna have to install a new key and tumbler then have it reprogrammed. I don't have access to a scanner to do it or I would. So, am I stuck going to a dealer/locksmith or what?

you don't need to program anything... super duty trucks didn't have PATS until 2008 MY

I think you can just get a new key from the dealer without the truck - Just need to show proof of ownership

you might have a little trouble with that if it's registered in your brother's name

Any locksmith should be able to cut one. I have used Michaels Keys out of Colleyville. Like Forrest said, its not a PATS key and should be cheap to do

            If it's non-PATS, it's like $12.

I've heard nothing but good stuff about Michael's Locksmith.

I went and bought a key and tumbler from oriellys. Got it installed and got it started. Thanks Cooter!

I have a 99 F250. They don't have chipped keys. Either replace the ignition switch or just get another key cut. No muss, no fuss.

I just noticed I stuck this in the back porch and not the garage. Sorry.
