Samsung vs HTC

So I'm ready to upgrade my Samsung Galaxy S4, would you go with an S5, or the new HTC One or whatever it's called? 2 guys at work have the HTC and really like it, I'm the only Samsung phone, so nothing to compare with there.

Is Samsung coming out with any new models soon, other than a big-ass Note?

I love my S4. It runs the latest version just fine, so id say keep it longer. Keep it till its just junk. Save a lot of money that way

Doesn't cost too much, I get it thru work, they pay the monthly bill and I get a discounted rate on hardware, and 13 month contract before I can upgrade again.
I hate the latest AT&T upgrade. Runs much slower, and now some days it drains the battery in 18 hours or less. I denied the upgrade as long as I could, then AT&T forced it onto the phone, along with even more bloatware. I should root it, but too lazy.

I have a S4 with no problems. As for the Blotware, just disable it and it will you like it a lot better. I did it on the 1st day I got when the phone first came out

I have the new HTC One M8 and I love it. The camera is great, the weight of the phone is right on, and overall I've had no issues with it. I've had a multiple HTC phones and loved each of them.

Most mobile phones will default to mobile view. I'm sure you can download another browser (instead of Google) that allows you to toggle between the views. Or set it by individual site...

Could install one of those cyangen mods and the phone would run the latest and greatest and run much faster. Im on kitkat 4.4.2 so i assume you are too. Hardest part is tracking down a good one click installer

Before ditching the S4 root it. You can get rid of all the bloat. Also check out the s4 forums on xda developers. You might find a ROM thatll speed things up quite a bit. The devs over there do some cool shit with their roms.
