  • Cabo - who has been ?

So... .we are thinking of going to Cabo for our honeymoon in March. Hopefully things are up and running by then ( Odile ) -

Any Suggestions on where to stay ?
    Where NOT to stay ?
    All inclusive or NOT ?
    Know of any specials ?

    Thanks,

    hector

I'll post pics in a bit, but Cabo just got its face rocked off by Hurricane Odile.

The strongest hurricane on record to hit the Baja Peninsula and the eye passed directly over CSL Sunday night. The place we usually stay is on the tip of the point, so the first man made thing to get hit... the beach is completely gone, one of the pools was partly washed out to sea, etc. The MX govt is using military and govt planes to evacuate tourists as the airport is fucked and closed.

    All that to say...
Take whatever people tell you about the past with a grain of salt. 6 months from now it might not be completely back to normal. There are some resorts already saying they will not take guests until the end of Jan 2015.

    Pics coming soon.

      The new airport terminal:

This is at Grand Solmar Land's End. There used to be beach out there.

          Thanks for the pics...
Since their # 1 source of income is tourism, im sure they will have it back up and running in 6 months ( FINGERS CROSSED )

And, hopefully we can get a good deal!

Wow, just wow. I've always wanted to go to CSL, guess I will have to wait just a bit longer.

I've talked to several Mexicans who don't even vacation in Mexico any more. They say people are crazy to go down there.

Stay out of the border towns, and stay out of the central Mexican desert. You're fine in any of the tourism areas.

OP - After looking at those photos of Cabo, may I suggest Tulum? yikes

You won't miss anything if you don't make it to Jamaica.

Cabo is one of my favorite places to go... We were going to plan a trip there in December, and have another in March, but don't know if that will hold true now...

I don't know why anyone would go to Cabo (or anywhere on the west coast) and suffer desert and cold-ass, cloudy Pacific when beautiful Caribbean water is closer around Playa del Carmen. Maybe just personal preference though. Sammy Hagar sure seems to love Cabo.

On the stretch between CSL and Los Cabos, the Hilton or Westin resorts.

I've been to Cancun once and have no desire to go back. Personally, I love the old Mexico desert feel of Baja and Cabo.
