They did away with those at the same time they implemented the new policy of no returns without receipt policy for shit like batteries. See how they're playing both sides of the fence to make an dishonest dollar?

That's not really a $35 credit, that is just the core charge for the old battery. If you don't bring it back then they fuck you for an extra $35. The battery doesn't cost them anymore if you bring the old and turn it in or not, think about it.

They are full of shit. My buddy and I both needed new batteries (the one in my Grand Cherokee was shot, his was dying). We went to Walmart, bought the new batteries, and then brought the other ones back for a core refund.

The girl working the customer service counter asked my friend if he still had his receipt from the old battery. He didn't so she scanned the battery and pulled it up in the system. He qualified for about $40 for a pro-rate.

She asked about mine. I told her I didn't buy that battery (it was in the car when i bought it last year). She said it didn't matter. She scanned the battery and it was still under warranty so I got a full refund on the battery I bought.

This was the Walmart on Forest just west of Abrams.

No, the core charge is only $8 or $9.

It was $35 off the price off the new battery. The battery was like $70 something and I paid 40 something after tax.

If it's nearly 4 years old I'd say you are SOL.

              Battery prices have gotten stupid.

You wanna know what I was told at the customer service desk?
I snag a cart from the parking lot, and wheel my battery in. I usually greet everyone with a smile. I wheel my cart on up to the customer service desk, and smile at the clerk. Well, its a fat ****** woman. I put my hand on the battery handle, in preparation to heave it upon the counter
"Before you put that thing all up on my counter, you need to go get it tested"
                  Sigh.

                  It was downhill from there.
If there wasnt a core charge, I would have smashed that battery on the floor, breaking it into several acid soaked pieces and walked the fuck out when the manager grease monkey told me I was screwed.

There was a thread in Canada about the OP leaving a pet store, and someone tapping his legs with a car due to a lack of patience while he was strolling across the cross-walk. He said he slammed a tub of kitty litter on their car hood. Then went on to end the post by saying
"Damn it feels to be a gangster"
Since then, ive wanted to slam something on something, and say that.

Batteries(and anything else for that matter)are only warrantied to the original purchaser. We'd be out of business in a week if we were giving out warranties on everything that just came from some used car lot.

That was Elvis IIRC. Once you get past the fact that he was buying kitty litter for his cat, he's pretty hardcore.

I'm sure he will see this. Weird, but I laugh about that often.
