Walmart batteries suck ass. Get a sears die hard gold and be done with it. My last one lasted 7 and a half years. Pricy but worth it.

            ...

It's funny that anybody that prints on heat sensitive paper would require a receipt. What good is it if it's turned black or all of the info has faded off of it.

Bought a battery 9/06 for my sport trac @ O'Reilly's for $49.99. Battery goes dead yesterday and now they are $104.99. Took old battery (2yr replacement/pro rated after that) in last night WITH my reciept and got new battery for $42. I'm happy?

I bought a battery from Walmart 11/04/2010 (3 months). I went outside today to start that shit and it was deader than Laci Peterson.

Not sure wtf, I was able to get it to charge up and start, but not sure if it will hold.

I'd be pretty happy if I saved over $60 on buying a new battery.

                        That's a 4 1/2 year-old battery. I wouldn't complain too much.

A 4 1/2 year old battery with a 5 year warranty and he paid less than half the cost of a new battery. My cheap ass would be dancing in the streets..

Sorry, I guess the question mark wasn't the best choice of punctuation to use. It appears I was griping. On the contrary, I was pleasantly surprised and happy with getting a brand new batter for 1/2 off. And not that it matters much Talisman but for what it's worth it was a 72 month battery.
But one does wonder why they doubled in price since then? Manufacturing costs go up that much or are they just charging more now to cover more warranty replacements?

I frequent both stores (they're right across the street from each other in my town), and both AutoZone and OReilly's batteries' have doubled in price over the last few years. I do know that shipping costs' have gone way up, and those babies are pretty heavy. Honestly, if you get a full three years out of a battery in your daily, for Texas, that's pretty damn good.

I've never had any issues with taking bad batteries back to autozone, except they have me in the damn computer 10-12 different ways now.
