I wanted to be a paleontologist or archaeologist, then of course astronaut at one point. Was interested in law enforcement for a while. Decided early I was joining the military and ended up working on avionics, then came back home and worked on ice machines for a while, and now I work on VFDs for an oil company, but it is about time for a change due to irreconcilable differences with my current boss. I guess I really haven't had a specific career other than maintenance, I guess.

I kind of fell in to what I do. I grew up in this industry, so I gave it a shot against my father's wishes. My goals have been mostly money motivated as opposed to career goals. I wanted to be making $50,000/yr by the time I was 25 and $100,000/yr by 35. As it turns out, chasing money built my career, and afforded me a piece of the pie.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

When I was in elementary school I wanted to be a race car driver
In high school I wanted to own a tire shop
I was talked into going to college.
Then talked into Pre-Law by my parents.
After graduating college with a (3.8gpa) and almost a perfect score on the LSAT, I didn't get into my first choice of Law Schools- UT. I was accepted at Michigan which is actually a better school, but didn't have an oil/gas law program.
Decided to tour South America while choosing what program I should pursue. So I deferred my enrollment and bought a plane ticket. After a year in South America I decided I didn't want to go to Law School and I was going to become a dual citizen so I could open a business in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
When Evo Morales was elected president, 2005, I moved back to the States and have been doing Logistics for Oil Companies ever since.Last edited by trailerparksuperstar; 09-16-2014, 09:30 AM.If it weren't for the gutter, my mind would be homeless.

1st goal was military- decided not to stay after 4 years
2nd goal was to work with my uncle in an oil and gas venture- he is still slowly moving forward but when the economy tanked it was a major setback for the new technology he is pushing.
3rd goal was to help my Dad build his company and eventually take over his position when he retired- There was a falling out with his business partners and they forced him out, I left with him.
4th goal- I am back in school and will graduate in May 2015, will be looking for a job in market analytics or new product development.

I really wanted to be a college professor but lost interest as soon as I got out of academia and realized that life out of school has much more fun to offer.
Then I got into the family business for a while but that just was not for me. I appreciated the job and experience, but that was the most depressing period of my life.
I am now opening up a gun shop with a storefront and everything (shoutout to Blake for helping with website design. The team at Ilfusion kicks ass). I won't make as much money with this venture as I would by working with my pops, but I would rather be happy and build something of my own even if I fail spectacularly.
My dream job would be pretty much anything on the island of Tasmania. If there is a heaven, it looks like Tasmania.Originally posted by lincolnboyAfter watching Games of Thrones, makes me glad i was not born in those years.

I've always wanted to cnc fancy custom stocks and grips but figured markup wasn't high enough to waste the time. Is markup good on that stuff?
