This has nothing to do with the Fed GS scale.

We have also rented many times through that website. Works out really well and can be cheaper then hotels.

I can't complain. It's almost 4x what I was getting paid when I hired on.

The wife and I have stayed at OTB a couple of times. Rented a beach house for a family reunion. Very nice area!

So what is the original question? If someone has rented a beach house before?

I can't say enough great things about that area. I love it! I'd go every year if I could. We've always used www.sunrealtync.com to make our reservation. However, I did use www.vrbo.com for our Cali reservation last Summer & that site is great too.

Have FUN! Wish I was going!

I was wondering if it was worth it, and some leads on where to look.

Yes! It's worth it. We have been a couple of times. We fly in to Norfolk to meet up with family members that live there & then make the drive to the Outer Banks. Rent a home that has linens, etc. included, has a private hot tub & pool, & stay in walking distance to the beach. We always do our liquor & grocery shopping the first day to stock up too.

                  You'll have a great time!

You can come, but the wife probably won't be too happy. Besides, two gingers don't make a right.

Thanks for the website, I will check it out.

It is worth it if you take advantage of the perks. We have rented in Panama City Beach a several times back when my kids were small(er). One of the main things is the W&D, this is very important especially being by the ocean. We washed towels almost daily and it seemed like they were washing clothes every other day. Having a fully stocked kicthen was a blessing for sure, pots pans, utensils, dish washer, stove, fridge, etc.
When we arrived we went straight to the Publix and stocked up on food for the entire week, mainly, breakfast, lunch and snacks and we ate out at dinner. This saves (10yrs. ago money) about $100.00 a day, going out and feeding a clan of six for B&L can get expensive.
Also, I always felt safer being in a house, the car is in the garage and I could bring several weapons, you know in case if zombie/ninja attack.
