I completely understand man. That's called a Classic Migraine with Aura, which is what I get. Vision is disrupted for anywhere for 20 minutes to an hour, after that clears, the headache hits within an hour, and is just an intense dull throb behind the eyes. Best thing is a dark quiet room and sleep. I've changed up my diet in the last two weeks and cut out a lot of caffeine and sugar and I think that triggered it.

I get the classic w/ aura. First time it happened, I thought I was having an aneurysm!

Mine would go from dull ache behind the eye to an ice pick to the temple

Thankfully over the past 6-7yrs, I have been able to lessen them to just a dull ache. More of an annoyance than anything.

And thankfully they're down to maybe 1 or 2 per year. sometimes over a year between migraines.

I thought I would be slick and see what would happen if I tried to drink one away a long time ago. Yeah, that made it twice as bad, and it lingered for 4 or 5 days.

Yup. That's usually what she gets. She normally senses coming on and goes thru her routine of meds dark and sleep.

That day was different cus of how fast her vision went bad then the pain was so intense. I got nervous cus she was acting strange. Like in a trance or drunk.

Like I said I didn't ask questions just straight to hospital. Like Cooter I thought aneurysm or tumor. I'm a big softy when it comes to wifey

On the bright side they are extremely infrequent these days. When I was a teenager there were periods where I would get 3 a week, and be throwing up too. I seriously wanted to fucking die. Luckily this one is already on a downswing. Hopefully it will be gone when I wake up tomorrow.

Took her straight to emergency room. I freaked a little I'm not gonna lie. They gave her something thru an iv and stayed over night. That was bout ten years ago. Hopefully never again
I've had a chronic migraine from the time I wake up until the time I go to sleep for almost 4 years now. We've tried everything-preventatives, botox, occipital blocks (sp?), pain meds, combos of meds, diet changes, massages, chiropractors...seriously everything. The only way I'm functional is with my pain meds. Fucking sucks and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone.

It definitely fucks with your head. I wrote an email back in the 90's when I had a bad one and it was like I had a stroke. Words were randomly all over the place, I would literally be thinking a word to type and type a different word while trying to type what I was thinking. It can be some scary shit.

I had all four removed in boot camp, which they had to cut the gums and use a hammer to break them. They just gave me local shots.

I was in and out of the chair in 20 minutes. Two days light duty and back at it. No complications. The Naval oral surgeon probably does that all day long to recruits for years on end.

On day 6, back at oral surgeon. Apparently I have dry sockets (fml) and an infection. Bumped me up to Oxy as a pain killer which finally something kills pain. Getting packing changed twice a day now, this sucks. I think I slept 18 hours Monday and 20 hours yesterday. Face is still swollen the size of a balloon. This shit sucks.

That would explain all the swelling not gone yet.
