Getting all wisdom teeth at age 36 extracted in the AM..

Did you guys keep ice on the first 12 hours? Buddy at work told me to do that but never heard of anyone doing that.

Its different for everyone -

Mine were impacted on the bottom, its an easy process, recovery was a couple of days for me. I survived off gatorate, slim fast and mashed taters.

I went in at 8am on a friday and woke up saturday at like 3am dizzy and sick. I needed to throw up. worst feeling ever.

I was asleep for the first 12 hours. I don't think I woke up until the next morning, I remember my family being at the breakfast table on a weekend morning after I woke up and thought I was fine before spitting that gauze out and passing out again 5 minutes later. I went in on Friday, I think in the morning. They doped the living shit out of me. I only took one hydro after the procedure, I was getting sick and dizzy from the anesthesia.

You'll be fine, mine were impacted as well. I was 17 or 18 when I had mine done though. Ended up having sex that night with my GF, so that help numb the pain a little bit. At 36... you're probably gonna be hurting for a good week.

i did mine last year. impacted and all it wasnt bad.

i went way long on the eating mush diet and constantly used the water syringe to keep clean.

mine was a bit of a bitch cause my top teeth were into my sinus cavaties. i had to wait about 6 weeks before really being able to blow my nose. that was a disgusting sensation.

He called in hydrocodone, but that doesn't really do anything to me. What is stronger I can request for the pain?

As stated above, once they start the gas you'll count from 10-1, and then you wake up. I picked Jluv up from getting his removed, it was absolutely hilarious. He made me pull over so he could dance on the side of the road lol

I got mine out at 18. All 4 were impacted. They removed them in the morning and I came home and napped off the anesthesia hangover. When I woke up I was starving so that afternoon I decided I was well enough to eat some lasagna and ended up with 2 dry sockets. Those hurt like a motherfucker. If I wasn't a dumbass and avoided the dry sockets I would have been fine.

I think its blown way out of proportion. I had three pulled in Iraq. I took one dose of pain pills the day of. Never needed the rest. In fact I traded all my hydocodone for a sure fire and a blackhawk bag.

The only thing that sucks is little piece of food getting stuck in the hole. A gentle swooshing of water usually cleans them out.

I had 3 pulled at Hood and drove myself home. I was at work the next day so it's not that big of a deal.

I've got a stupid high tollerance to pain meds (among other things) and hydrocodone doesn't do shit to me either. Doc gave me 2 weeks worth of them, and I think I took 3 pills. Honestly, if hydrocodone doesn't do anything to you, then you're not really going to need much in the pain pill dept.

Just stick to soft foods you don't have to chew for a few weeks, don't use a straw or smoke, don't let your ol' lady talk you in to suckin' her tits (worse than using a straw...damn near instant dry socket...) keep the holes cleaned/packed per docs instructions, and you'll be just fine.

I've had one pull three months ago. But the sound of braking bone whan he yanked on it was the worst part. Just make sure you avoid getting a dry socket. Pretty much what you want.
