No, just effing around. I'm on American landing at 9:40.

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

It just seems unlucky to fly on the 13th anniversary of 9/11!

It's what they have planned next that worries me.

We never expected hijacked airliners to become missles.

Who knows what they could use that we haven't thought of.
This. They work off the element of surprise. I fear it will be something related to our kids God forbid. I have always thought sporting events would be a target and catastrophic. Take college football for example. It's an American past time and easy to find 70,000 plus people there at gametime. (some of the bigger schools)

          LOL @ the pilot joke.

My mom's husband is a pilot, and coming home from my grandfather's funeral, he was the co-pilot. He pulled me up to the cockpit while they were doing to preflight checks, and as I turned around to go back to my seat, one of the passengers looked at me crazy. It was 5:30am, I was tired, slightly hungover, unshaven and wearing a ball cap. He asked if I was the pilot, and I said "yeah, its my first day, sort of a working interview kinda deal. Ive never flown a bird this big, but it's mostly computer controlled, so I think Ive got it covered"

Ive never seen a more nervous guy in my life.

I flew on American to Sacremento on 9/11 in 2005. And the fucktards in dfw had all the news channels on, showing, you guessed it, replays of 9/11. You can't say bomb in an airport, but they can put up video of hijacked airplanes crashing into buildings and thousands dying, just what you want to see right before you board. No issues at all.

And Danny and I both flew to LA on 9/10/2011 for the Bonneville Roadtrip. We walked the spanse of Golden Gate on the tenth anniversary.

I walked straight through security, zero wait. Only time it's ever been faster is at Oakland airport. I guess not many people flying today.

I fear you are spot on. I think the next attack might be chemical (VX gas or something horrible like that) at a stadium.

Eagles vs. Patriots, since they like hitting our "patriotism" icons (United, US Airways, American Airlines)

Hopefully the same agency that spies on us, can spy on them and stop it.

NFC and AFC teams play regular season games all the fucking time.

I'm on my 4th uneventful flight of the day. Flown on this day many times now, I can't say no when work calls.

I've flown on 9/11 three different years including the 10th anniversary. Eric is right it is uneasy watching the coverage right before you fly

Well it was non eventful. Although I was carefully eyeballing everyone one on the plane, and every move they made. There was a knowing glance exchanged between myself and the man sitting next to me that if anyone so much as made a suspicious move, it would be us defending the rest of the passengers disposing of terrorists.

As the drone of the engines lulled me into that peaceful state between lucidity and REM sleep I fancied myself as the man who would orchestrate overthrowing of those who wished to do us harm. It was ME who would say "LET'S ROLL!" and push the coffee cart into the terrorists. It was ME, fearless and with much resolve, who would smash them with the coffee pot, rendering them unconscious and burned from the hot coffee. Making my way into the cockpit I would radio back to the tower that the terrorists have been subdued, and AMERICA has regained control of the aircraft.

At which time I would receive step by step instructions from the ground to safely land the plane. I imagined it was ME with the headset on, carefully executing each command, heart racing as I made final approach, seeing the lights of the runway, as well as the armada of Fire and Rescue vehicles come into view - flaps and gear down, mechanically responding as the instructions came...... touching down and applying the brakes and reverse thrust, coming to a stop and hearing the cheer from all the passengers. I was the MAN, the HERO. My life would never be the same as I made the talk show circuit and had dinner with the President....

As all this was going on I pretended the arm rests with the seat tilt buttons were the controls for the plane. The headphones I had on were blasting me with "Pushit" from Tool, and I was fearless. I had nothing to lose..... come on, motherfucker, make a move. I am READY.
