It does, people saying they are dogs from low rpm before are crazy. Ive driven 3.31 geared supercrews and regular cabs with no problem. They move very well.

They are fine, the ecoboost is just better.

As long as its not humid outside

On a serious note, if the 2015 F150 2.7 ecoboost can match the Ram ecodiesel mpg numbers, I'm seriously going to have to consider one for my wife.

            it won't match it

if you actually stand on the pedal every now and then, the IC issues are nil. My Dad drives like an old man and zero issues w/ his Eco in any climate/elevation

not sure on the 2.7 numbers, but the 3.5 numbers certainly didn't live up to their claims LOL

the Ram does well, but you're going to have more issues down the road due to emissions vs. a gasser

I was going to hammer you, but can't add anything that wasn't already said.

Diesels are fucking done. We finally get some cool stuff and it's going to be ruined.

once injection pressure crests 50k and the components will hold up, DPF's are gone

The huge weight loss should hopefully help that. If the 2.7 ecoboost isnt getting upper 20s highway its going to be a giant fail.

Not sure if any of you have checked out the new Expedition coming out soon....they have said that the only engine offered will be a 370hp/430tq version of the 3.5 EcoBoost. So apparently they aren't totally killing off the 3.5 in favor of the 2.7, just moving them to the Expeditions.

Are they not offering both ecoboost engines?

Anyways OP, get whichever truck you like more, its obvious you dont care about power and drivability too much, so just buy the truck you like more and can get the better deal on.

I've lost count of how many people I've told that diesel engines are going through now what gas engines dealt with 30 years ago. Like Cooter said, they'll get it figured out.

In case anyone is looking for more info, I purchased a 13 5.0 Supercrew fx2 with luxury package for 36k last November. I chose against the Ecoboost because I had long term reliability concerns at the time.
