I don't know, I see this as a no win situation. I have read this entire thread and there is definitely different views. If the cops would have let her stab herself, you guys would have called them pricks. If they would have tackled her and broke something, you guys would have called them pricks. If they would have harmed her in any way, you guys would have called them pricks. More or less on this board, you guys would have called them pricks. I will say the cop tried not to hurt the kid and even in the report it says the cop manually shut off the tazer once she was hit so it wouldn't hurt her. I think the cop was in a no win situation and to not cause major harm, thought this was the least dangerous way to end the situation. We can all be arm chair QBs but nobody knows what they will do till they are in that situation.

Would I want one of my boys tazed, no. Are my kids bat shit crazy, no.

A - That babysitter is dumb as shit.
B - Four cops were so in fear for their life that they had to tase her? I'm sure there is more to the story, but on the surface with the facts we have, lulz.
C- Are cops not trained in hand to hand or disarming people? Person with a gun is one thing. A kid with a knife, likely kitchen knife is hardly something I would be concerned over. I've been in similar situations with adults, and not had any problems taking the weapon from people bigger, faster, and stronger than I am. You'd think with 4 officers, one would have been able to provide enough distraction for another to move in and get the situation under control.
D - Parenting plays a role in this. Child likely has a severe lack of discipline at home.

I would think it is quite a bit more risky to taze a child that is still developing and growing. Just as it would be with an elderly person.
