I was at the tax office yesterday getting new tags a month overdue. While they always ask if I had gotten a fine for expired tags, yesterday I noticed the lady asked me if I had been driving the vehicle and/or gotten a ticket since it expired. I wonder what would have happened if I answered yes to driving, but no to the ticket. I would think pleading the 5th applies here.

I don't know about it falling through, I do know that I was unable to register my car earlier this year due to the scofflaw from a red light ticket.

What county do you live in?

Tarrant, although part of my taxes goes to Dallas for something. But I have to register it in Tarrant.

Now that you say that, I remember a few weeks ago the couple next to me being told they needed to take care of a red light ticket in order to update their registration.

Them threatening to put it on your credit report is crazy. I thought that would only apply for things that you made an agreement to pay like a loan or credit card? I guess they lose when you dispute it?

Luckily I've never had a red light ticket *knocks on wood*

If they tried, yes, they would lose pretty quickly since there is no binding agreement to pay.

Exactly. No one ever agreed to pay any of this shit.

I've seen collections that stated "red light ticket" in the comments on credit reports.

99% of disputes must be removed before getting a mortgage loan. I understand you're set, but for the rest of those reading - FYI.

True dat. With any luck I'll never need to go through the mortgage process again.

Wife got one, I paid it and moved on.

                        Never again.

Oh and in Duncanville, the building is full when it comes to the day when you can contest the red light tickets.

I am so glad I don't have to work there anymore.

I got one in NRH while driving myself to the ER and passing a kidney stone. I had admission paperwork showing me being admitted 4 minutes after the picture was taken, and it still took a couple hours and essentially an act of congress to get them to dismiss it.

I wonder if any of the politicians that voted these in are still in office, and why are people still in office that won't get rid of that bullshit.
