The better way to make intersections more safe is to increase the yellow a fraction of a second and hold all directions red a fraction of a second longs to allow the intersection to clear.

I remember reading a NHTSA report about the light timings a while back.

I wonder what would have happened if I answered yes to driving, but no to the ticket. I would think pleading the 5th applies here.
If you answer yes they charge you like ten percent and note it on the paperwork. When you get to the courts in some cities if they do not see that they will not let you just pay the dismissal fee or courts cost of 15-20 bones, you will pay the full fee. IIRC

I stopped a guy because his registration was out a few months ago. He told me he couldn't renew it because of a red light ticket. I told him I didn't think they could do that. He told me where his ticket was from and when I got in the car it actually said that shit on the registration or something towards the bottom. It was a vague reference but with his story it panned out. I was like WTF. I sent him on his merry way without a citation. Guy is just trying to get his shit right in the order that would keep him citation free and no dice.

I got a bullshit red light camera ticket from Grand Prairie almost two years ago. Ignored it. When it came time to renew my registration in Tarrant County in July, I got the renewal stuff in the mail and it had "SCOFF LAW" stamped across the top. I tried to do it online and the system told me I wasn't eligible because of the ticket. I did a little searching and found where Ron Wright has told the Tarrant County folks not to enforce it when people show up in person. I figured I'd try my luck at just mailing it in with a check. Worked like a charm. I had my new sticker a week later.

Thumbs up to Ron Wright and a big middle finger to Grand Prairie!

You are going to see more unregistered cars once they tie inspections to it. It isn't like people are just going to stop driving their cars if they won't pass. Especially poor people, the choice is eat or drive a car with no tags to work, it isn't like public transportation is worth a shit around here.

scofflaw \SKAHF-la or -law\ (noun) - Someone who scoffs or shows contempt for the law, a law-breaker. (Remember: "scoff" means to mock or deride, and not just to ignore.)

How the hell do people run so many red lights and bitch about it? Why the heck would you risk getting run over ?

I bet its cheaper to pay the $75 red light ticket and get the car registered than the Expired Registration ticket...

                      What principle is that ?

The 2014 I'm no longer responsible for my actions it's someone elses fault principle?
Guess I'm missing it. I log a shit load of miles every year, haven't had a red light ticket yet. Hell I'm real cautious at intersections, had some close calls with IDIOTS running lights.

Because the officer reviewing the video doesn't apply any common sense. For mine, I was literally too close to the intersection to stop. I wasn't speeding, I was just too close when it turned yellow, then red. It was safer to just roll through it.

Another one of mine was making a right turn at an intersection. Between observing the stopped traffic in the right lane, , pedestrians, and the yellow light, I ended up yielding at the intersection and barely catching the red. After viewing the video they provide, I can see where I didn't come to a complete stop but when I was driving, everything just happened. I don't even know if that one makes sense.

However, just the other morning, I was coming to an intersection near my house that has a camera. I wasn't speeding but sure enough, it turned yellow right at that moment where had I rolled through it, I would've caught the red light. So to avoid the ticket, I had to nail my brakes...and I mean NAIL! Thankfully I didn't have anyone behind me because I truly don't know if they would've avoided me. BUT HEY... I didn't get a ticket.

You serious? This is a bullshit money grab, and more than a few cities have been caught shortening yellow light times to increase red light revenue. Just because it hasn't happened to you doesn't mean it doesn't happen, and that it's not bullshit.

For the record, the one I just got was for doing a California Stop making a right on red. I'm not giving anyone $100 for that shit if I can avoid it, hell, that's two or three weeks worth of groceries in my house or two and a half months worth of gas.

I want this in my next vehicle so that I don't have to stop so much at lights.
