I leave next friday for my annual camping/fishing trip to Wyoming. It's my time to unwind. Cell towers unfortunately seem to be encroaching though. Last year my brother-in-laws cell phone accidentally got left on and rang at the campsite. We usually turn them off because we don't get signal anyway. I think we'll just let everyone keep believing there's no signal!

I hate that with the cell towers. It's nice to go places where it's just not an option, but those areas are getting smaller and more scarce.

My annual trip is to CO (week after next) for the exact same thing - camping and fishing. It's super nice to unplug and reset. It's hard to come back, especially to work and 1000 emails, but it's necessary and worth it.

I try to get little mini camping trips in locally 1-2 weekends a month from Oct-April. The weeks are easier to make it through when I can look forward to sitting around a campfire making some chili, with a cold drink and maybe some classic rock or a game on a small radio. I don't take the work phone and luckily, I don't get much action on my personal phone, so that's nice.

I don't like driving more than I have to, though. Taking off to nowhere and back doesn't appeal to me at all.

Yeah, well I take that ride pretty regular...As I type i'm enjoying a night cap...
I guess the straw this week is I'm gonna have to put mom in a nursing home. She needs more nursing attention than we can give her. She's fallen twice now when I'm not with her. Luckily today she didn't break anything.
I think I'll have another one bartender....

Thats a rough gig, we did that a couple of years ago. Its very hard to deal with.
Hang in there. Support from my wife and kids kept me in the game.

A friend of ours has some property thats 20 miles off the nearest blacktop thats only a few hours from here. I told him he probably saved my life when he bought it and threw me a set of keys. So we hit that 8-10 times a year and go Rzr riding. It works for me. I'm very thankful for my wife and kids and a few friends.
