I think I've posted about it before....I spent 5-years as a Vet Tech in an animal hospital when I worked my way through school. This was an actual Vet Hospital, not to be confused with your average neighborhood clinic.

We saw some amazing shit come through over the years, and dogs consuming stuff that they could not digest was a real common theme for surgeries.

A couple that stick in my head....Bull Terrier (Spuds McKenzie dog) not eating, lethargic, vomiting, and with a painful abdomen. X-ray showed a very suspect and oddly shaped object in his stomach...had to slice him, and we found an entire head off of a Cabbage Patch doll. Funny thing too....the owner said they had grounded their son for ripping the head off of his sister's doll and leaving it headless on her bed. What was most amazing is that the dog actually got it down without choking to death....those were about the size of a grapefruit, albeit hollow inside.

Another one was a teacup Yorkie, got into some dental floss while the owner was at work...she was actually brought in with floss hanging out of her mouth and her ass...and yes, it was one long piece. It took about 8-hours of surgery to remove it, which she almost didn't survive. Unfortunately she ended up with some pretty serious bowel issues that she was unable to overcome and died about 3-4-months later. The owner spent thousands of dollars trying to save her....I can remember Doc telling the lady when she was asking about the cost of surgery....."Do you want a dog, or do you want this dog".

I've got tons of memories/stories from those days....some very sad, some hilarious, some really gnarly, and those that were just outright bizarre.

Just busy at work. I did grab a couple of extra pairs before leaving for work today(a pair for the office since I used my extra pair when there was some rain awhile back and a pair for my workout bag), my subconscious was telling me not to trust them I guess lol.

I can see every now and then a sock out of boredom or whatever but 43+ is crazy and makes me sceptical that they give the dog the attention he needs.

Yeah that is because he didn't give them the attention they needed. Dalmations are an extremely energetic breed and need to be walked, played with and otherwise babied or they will destroy shit.

All dogs are this way. Most dogs don't just destroy/eat stuff for no reason, it's because they are missing something that they need be it exercise, affection, more/better food, or companionship. There are SOME that are just neurotic, and that is a whole other set of issues and it doesn't manifest itself like this, there are many other signs to look for.
