I did some mattress shopping over last month and finally settled on getting a Kingsdown mattress from Sleep Experts. I bought it last week and they set up a delivery window last night of 7-10PM. Seriously, who delivers that late? Domino's Pizza? Anyway, it fits within my schedule so I don't sweat it. Fast forward to last night and I get a call at 9:40 from the delivery guy who doesn't speak very good English. He say's "We're on our way. It will be about 25 minutes". I reply with "So you're saying you're not gonna be here by 10?" He says he's sorry and asks if it's still ok to come. I tell him "sure". After we hung up, I got to thinking about it and really wasn't ok with it. I had to get up at 6am to go to work and these guys are gonna be here after 10? I think that as long as they show up within a couple of minutes of 10, I'll still be ok, but after that, I'm out for the night. Tick tock tick tock. 10:10. 10:15. 10:20. 10:25. As I'm laying in bed trying to go to sleep, I FINALLY hear someone knock on my door just shy of 10:30. Screw that. He proceeds to knock for about 10 minutes. He calls my cell phone a couple times, but I just let it go to VM. I listen to the messages this morning and the guy left a couple, but the interesting one is where he says "I'm at your door, do you want your mattress or not?" WTF, seriously? Needless to say, I'm not happy. I didn't get my mattress, they were well beyond delivery hours, and I got a rude @$$ Messican leaving me messages. I spent $900 out the door (not much compared to what mattresses go for these days) and it was already free delivery. What would be appropriate for me to ask here? FREE mattress? Not quite, but I figure another $100 off the deal for me wasting my entire evening. Or should I aim higher? Anyway, screw Sleep Experts. What do you guys think?
I would have let it go, accepted my mattress later than expected and experienced a good nights sleep. I HIGHLY doubt it was done on purpose. Messicans ( like me ) usually run on time.
unless you hit stand still traffic at 9:50pm at loop 12/I-35 split.......
Ya'll are all focused on the 30 minutes late part and that I said it was ok to come. I truly didn't care about the 30 mins late part. When you're outside your delivery window and it's 10:30 at night, it's a different story. I said it was ok to come if he was gonna be there in 25 minutes like he said. Had he told me he was gonna be 45 minutes, I would have said "wait until tomorrow". We all make mistakes, but acceptance of piss poor judgement of time (on his part) isn't my fault. If he was still doing another delivery, then he shouldn't have called me until he was heading this way. Acceptance of subpar customer service, etc is why cust svc has gone to #$% in this country. If we don't put up with it, it will improve. I'm not a DFWMustangs millionaire like all you ballas on here, so I speak with my voice, and if necessary, my wallet. Delivery is tomorrow from 9-12. You know what, if poncho shows up at 1:30, tomorrow, I will refuse. Well, unless he calls me prior to 12 and tells me he's running late.

The thing is, if you are really unhappy with your experience, don't try to get free shit. Get a refund and take your business elsewhere. That is how you show a company that their service is sub-par. Asking for some discount just makes a person look like that was their goal from the get go.
