Changing car insurance companies probably gonna give geico a shot.

I have the 12 5.0 paid off so am wondering if I should put it as liability only or keep the full coverage. At what point do most people change to liability only?

I don't know when but it's sure as fuck not when you are driving a 2 year old 5.0 that is paid off. Maybe when the insured car is worth less than 1k or so, I'd switch to liability

        This.

If your car is worth so little that you don't care about it being totaled and having to replace it, I guess that may be a good time, but I doubt that's how anyone would feel.

My family has always had liability only. Never had an issue with it. Of course we're a family of car dealers, body shop men, and mechanics, so even if something happens, it's cool.

When the insurance cost more then the car is worth. So in your case it would be quite awhile.

Only when you dont care if the vehicle gets damaged.

no way... if you've got 3+ vehicles on your policy, the difference per month per vehicle is probably $30-40/mo

not worth it. just keep full coverage IMO

Once i reached a certian age the price difference was nill. Even now my pos 93 taurus has full coverage for 13.75 a month.

so i say never as well.

My '96 Camaro is liabilty only. Anymore, a fender bender would total it out so there's no point, and it gets driven maybe 10K a year... when it runs.
