I was thinking about you doing this ordeal. They got me there around 6pm and we left at 1am. 1 doctor and 1 nurse in this hospital, I was ready to stitch myself up.Originally posted by davbrucas View PostI would have put staples in and you would have been in and out in 20mins.
Random question, but how does a staple in a head wound differ from a stitch? From installation, to pain felt, to how it mends the wound? I asked if I could get staples and he said he would be doing large stitches instead.

staples aren't bad on a head wound... and hair covers up the scar
my wife fell off a small cliff while mountain climbing and a tree branch ripped her scalp open and she had like 20-30 staples. healed great, and you'd never know

I staple most all scalp lacs. No lidocaine usually needed. The scalp is so well vascularized it rarely gets infected and heals very quickly. Staples would come out in 5days. No shaving needed.Originally posted by SMKR View PostI was thinking about you doing this ordeal. As far as pain felt...there's a little pinch with each staple but it is not as bad as the lidocaine burn.
