  • Great, now I have to build another Miata.

You've heard of Godzilla, and the other Monster Miatas, but have you ever seen a Lexus-powered one? Today's Nice Price or Crack Pipe MX5 may be your first time, but does it come with a price that'll make that first time hurt?

Today's 1991 Miata is just so equipped, however, instead of the pushrod power of a Ford 302, - which you might expect to be the beating heart under its hood - this one rocks a DOHC 1UZ-FE out of a Lexus.

I think Ill run a ford DOHC 4.6.

You could build a few and retire based on what he asking for it.

Will a ford 32v 4.6 fit? I know they are stupid wide but not sure if the dimensions are similar to the lexus. Whomever did that install did a awesome job.

If the lexus will, the ford will.

Except for the missing fan shroud. It does look good, though.

That's a cute little radiator for a V-8, especially with an automatic. No room for a condenser either. It is a clean swap though.

I would just go with whatever is the lightest so you don't fuck up the balance of the car, alum headed 302 is pretty damn light, similar to ls1. I'd also go with a built t5 to keep the weight down vs a t56.

                          Crack Pipe price.

I'd do a LS motor and a Jericho 4spd myself.... For 30k I could build 2 of them.

All said and done, it's still a Miata.

I say fuck all of that engine width, I like pushrod motors because of the package size, dealing with the width can be a real pain in the ass with limited room. (vac booster, shock/strut towers etc)
