Little was a cadet for the department. The cadet program is designed for individuals 21 years of age and younger to get a look at career opportunities within law enforcement. Cadets typically answer phone calls from citizens, issue parking citations, and assist officers on various assignments.
Cadets are non-sworn civilian employees and are not issued a handgun.

Originally posted by kingjason View PostI figured. Oh but hell no it sounds better that he was a "POLICE cadet". Like he was in the academy to be a police officer or something. I have seen one in my career go on and be a cop. It is cool stuff for them, as they do active shooter training, accident investigation, and weapons manipulations courses but still, not even close to being a cop. It just makes the story better I guess.

It's probably sort of like Blakeski claiming he went to a Military Academy, when in reality it was one of those military schools kids that are fuck ups get sent to.
Apologies for taking the headline at face value on this one.
