  • Staying at Perdido key anyone been?

Going in September and we are driving. Trying to decide the best route.

    1. Get on 98 from I 10 then head south to 59 south then take 182/292 up the coast

    2. Take 10 all way over to 293 and then to 292 to coast

    3. or take 10 to pensicola then cut down on 297 to 298

My condo is on beach in Perdido. We go often. Fastest route is to go to exit 7A in Florida and go south to 173 and turn right. Follow this for several miles and turn right on 292. This will bring you into Perdido Key from the east and save you some time.

We have a condo there at the Eden (stair stepped condo on the beach) We usually go 10 thru Mobile then take 90/59 south towards Foley there is an awesome fruit stand (burris market) to stop at and get tons of food fresh fruit etc for the week. we take it all the way south to gulf shores. then head east on the beach road. its a nice cruise along the beach to perdido. You might get to see some places you'll want to come back to to eat at etc etc. also there is a foley beach expressway (tollway) you can take that takes off a bit of time. While your there try Hub stacey, its a hole in the wall sandwich shop but awesome food and decent live music.

I know you said seafood but other than that there are 2 other good ones I love

hub staceys is not a nice restaurant but shorts and flip flops place, just a cool local hangout.

Lillian pizza is original and good if you get in the mood for pizza

the oyster bar is cool because its on the water and you can watch the boats go by. good key lime pie.

cobalt is another good on right at the pass, nice outdoor patio and good food.

shrimp baskets just like a quick sit down and eat place but is good.

crab trap is a little nicer and good, a little more expensive.

zekes landing usually has good stuff too and if you do a charter trip from that marina they will cook your catch.

if you have a place to cook, I highly recommend getting fresh shrimp/fish from nix brothers seafood. you take it home and cook it but its definitely our favorite thing to do.

theres tons of places there and new places I haven't even been to so I'm sure theres other good places, these are just ones I go to and know are good

I dont rent it out and I dont use cleaning services. I clean it myself when I leave and if I let my friends use it, they clean it.

so... this is why you do not vacation on the beach in hurricane season! There is a depression with a 90% chance of formation moving west northwest off coast of Africa. 15 miles per hour, puts it landing in 10 days.....in my dang vacation!
please go north please go north!

Hurricanes just make the waves gnarlier. Don't fret.

That's basically the way I went when I was stationed in Pensacola.
