Does your wife cut hair or something?

60/hr isn't chump change, and honestly if they expect more then they can charge more. That said i always paid 18-20 and rounded it up to 25, but the lady i went to in hurst cut my hair from elementary school all the way thru college and was very easy to work with. She'd stay late or come in early when i needed something last minute.

Turns out he wasn't lying. He started fucking my hair up and I was very nice and very patient and he started getting super defensive. All I was doing was trying to get him to fix the stuff he messed up and he started getting upset, shake voice and everything like he was going to cry or throw a punch or something. I ended up walking out, throwing a $20 on the counter as I left and had Barbersville in HEB fix it. They always do a great job but are nowhere near my house or work.

            It was really weird.
Wow! Were is the Barbersville? I live in Bedford and will give them a shot.

              That she does.

I waited tables for years, I am quite adverse to not tipping the chain store folks since they often are paid hourly and really truly depend on the tips.

Don brings down the curve quite a bit.

1424 airport freeway. The sign is just a generic "Barber" sign. It's really bad ass though. Hot rod themed, stations are tool boxes, that sort of thing. They may do women's hair, but I've never seen a woman there. Cool guys, do great work.

I think I've paid for one haircut the last 10 years, and that was in Vietnam. Clippers with no guard here, quick and easy.

I've been going to the same barber for over 10 years now.
I pay $20 including tip. Bald taper with a 6 on top and an edge up.
Its in Oak Cliff let me know if you want more info.....

I should have clarified, my comments regarding Sports Clips were geared towards those that keep their hair shorter, and who have fades. That is the bulk of what they do and a haircut done primarily with clippers is very different than a longer style with only scissors.

For those that get their hair cut very often, they used to do quick touch-ups for free between full cuts (cleaning up edges and neck). I assume they probably still do.

Reviving this thread for more feedback. My regular gal retired and I need a new go to place. I have thick hair and like a scissor cut. Anyone can do a buzz cut. With that said, is there any difference between Knockouts, Sportcuts, clips, and all the other places?

In my experience the chain stores usually suck. They can fuck up buzz cuts with ease so I imagine scissors would be asking for trouble. A real barber is probably what you need. I usually buzz my own hair or have my wife do it, so I have no suggestions other than to agoid the chains. Just my two cents.

Check out Barbersville if you're in the Mid-Cities area.

$15.00 and no tip. It's her business, so the $15.00 goes straight in her purse. Plus she is a friend. We bring food and drinks every get together.
